Magneto is a powerful member of the Fang Empire, and is the main villain from X-Men Evolution.
When Erik Lehnsherr was young boy hed was placed in a German concentration camp located on Polish territory during World War 2. His mutant powers had already manifest at this time: when Wolverine and Captain America liberated the camp Erik helped them by using his powers to repulse three grenades that had been thrown at the escapees. Only Wolverine witnessed this.
Some time after this he adopted the name Magnus, met Charles Xavier, and then became an ardent supporter of mutant supremacy as Magneto. He also recruited Mystique as his second-in-command, and produced two twin children by an unknown mother: Pietro and Wanda Maximoff. The details of these events are unknown.
At some point, Magneto and Mystique established a DNA lab in a castle. While there, Magneto was responsible for turning Mystique's newborn son Kurt's skin blue and fuzzy. Mystique, horrified, fled with Kurt but was chased down by Magneto and a pack of wolves. When one wolf snapped at her, Mystique accidentally lost Kurt over a bridge.[Note 2]
Except for Xavier, and later Wolverine, none of the X-Men knew about his existence. He initially acted through his agent Mystique, who was the principal (Principal Darkholme) of Bayville High School. He instructed her to gather mutants to his cause, to which end she recruited Toad, Avalanche, Blob, and Rogue (although Rogue later left to join the X-Men). She formed these mutants into a team, the Brotherhood of Bayville, and also lodged them in a nearby boarding house. He also told her specifically to recruit Pietro Maximoff, with whom he had a strained relationship. Pietro agreed to join the Brotherhood when Magneto broke him out of jail. Subsequently, Pietro occasionally acted as a spy within the Brotherhood house, working for Magneto without Mystique's knowledge (for example, when Mystique attempted to reconcile with her son Kurt, now the X-Man known as Nightcrawler).
Later, Magneto became a more direct threat. He approached Alex Masters (secretly the brother of X-Man Cyclops) in Hawaii and used him to sway Cyclops to his cause. He also pitted the Brotherhood (and Sabertooth) against the X-Men in a series of duels, then brought the winners (and Charles Xavier) to Asteroid M to form a new elite society - those who would not join him willingly (such as Xavier, Jean Grey, Rogue, and Storm) he placed in stasis.  Using a special chamber powered by the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, he enhanced the mutant abilities of Sabertooth, Cyclops and Alex (now named Havok). Magneto claimed that his own powers had already been fully advanced, but this is not clear.
Meanwhile, Mystique became bitter at having not been brought to Asteroid M, despite all the sacrifices she had made for Magneto. Scorned, she helped the remaining X-Men (including Wolverine) to reach Asteroid M and destroy it. Magneto's captives were rescued and Cyclops and Havok were convinced that Magneto had been using them all along. The Asteroid crashed to the ground, but Magneto managed to escape.
Seasons 2 to 4
Magneto personally recruited a new team, the Acolytes, de-aged himself using the same technology that created Captain America, and finally revealed the existence of mutants to the public after the X-Men and Brotherhood fought off a Sentinel which was meant to destroy every mutant known.
Wanda, who hated Magneto for abandoning her as a child an leaving her in a mental asylum, hunted him down relentlessly until he used the mutant Mastermind to change her memories, painting him in a new light.
Magneto dedicated himself to preventing the awakening of the mutant Apocalypse, although all his attempts failed and upon Apocalypse's awakening he was transformed into one of his Four Horsemen after he was thought to have been killed by Apocalypse. He was freed of this enslavement, and was helped by his two children.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Magnetic Field Manipulation: One of the most powerful beings on the planet, Magneto is a mutant with the superhuman power to channel and manipulate magnetic fields that exist naturally or artificially. Magneto's power is, for all practical purposes, limitless. Magneto can maintain total control of an entire planet's electromagnetic field and manipulate it accordingly. Magneto has harnessed magnetism to stop armies, raise islands from ocean floors, move mountains, change the course of rivers, and threaten to devastate the world with apocalyptic floods and continent shaking earthquakes. Magneto once blanketed the entire globe with a self-generated electromagnetic pulse that caused widespread devastation. Moreover, he can use his magnetic powers in more than one way simultaneously. He can completely assemble a complicated machine within seconds through his powers. It is unclear, however, whether he must draw magnetic force from outside himself (if so, then he can do so over vast distances), or whether he can also generate magnetic force from within himself. Nor is it clear whether Magneto's power is psionic or purely physiological in nature.
Magnetic Force-Fields: Magneto usually protects himself with a personal force field that he can quickly expand to protect large areas. His force field has withstood the effects of multiple nuclear weapons, volcanic eruptions, the depths of space
■Magnetic Flight: Magneto is also capable of sustaining flight for very long distances and at varying speeds. He apparently has several means by which he achieves flight, one of which is by gliding along the planet's natural magnetic lines of force, another by simply creating a repulsive force between himself and the planet, propelling himself thus. By using his magnetic powers, Magneto can virtually travel at trans-light speeds; however, in order to travel in space, Magneto also requires his force field to breathe.
■Matter Manipulation: Magneto is able to manipulate matter even to the subatomic level for a number of purposes. This might explain why, his not limited to objects with metallic properties and is able to manipulate objects with non metallic properties like wood, stone, plastics etc.
■Electromagnetic Sight: By concentrating, Magneto can perceive the world around himself as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings.
■Metallic Bonding: Magneto has recently presented the power to atomically bond metallic substances to any designated surface material. This newly developed technique allows Magneto to blend metallic alloys with the earth, water, and air (HoM).
■Organic Iron Manipulation: Magneto can control the traces of iron within organic matter, which allows him to have full control over an opponent's body. He can manipulate the iron-enriched blood-flow to one's brain to induce aneurysms or unconsciousness, alter thoughts and perceptions, or blank a person's mind completely. He can even remove ferrous compounds from the bloodstream entirely through a person's skin
■Geomagnetic Link: Magnus is tied very closely to Earth's EM Field. As is it effected, so is he. He knows instinctively all that happens to it, and with this link, is granted an odd sort of immortality. Earth lends him strength by it's simple existence. He draws on it all unconsciously.
■Superhuman Strength: Under normal conditions, Magneto possesses the physical strength of a well conditioned athlete. However, he can channel vast amounts of magnetic energy through his body for the purpose of granting himself vast superhuman strength which limits are unknown. Whatever those limits might be, he is ultimately able to lift far in excess of 100 tons with ease.
■Superhuman Stamina: As a result of increasing his strength, he dramatically increases the overall efficiency of his musculature. While magnetically enhanced, his muscles produce considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. Magneto can exert himself physically for up to at least a few days before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood starts to impair him.
■Superhuman Durability: Under normal conditions, Magneto possesses the physical durability of a well conditioned athlete. However, he can channel vast amounts of magnetic energy through his body for the purpose of granting himself vast superhuman durability, to the point he can shrug off punches to the face from super humans such as Colossus while weakened and remain unharmed
■Superhuman Reflexes: He naturally possesses enhanced reflexes. He can further enhance this reflexes with magnetic energy, to the point he can pluck out of the air with his hand, superhumans as swift and fast as the likes of Quicksliver with ease.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation: Although Magneto's primary power is magnetism, he has some ability to project or manipulate any form of energy that is related to the electromagnetic spectrum. He can fire and absorb bolts of electricity and magnetic force, reverse lasers and other forms of radiation or energy, create enough intense heat as infrared radiation to level a city, manipulate gravity, and become invisible by deflecting visible light around his body. Infrared radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which also includes visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet light, gamma rays and x-rays -- Magneto can project any of these. Magneto has demonstrated the capacity to produce a wormhole, and to safely teleport himself and others by means of the wormhole.
Telepathic Resistance: Magneto has trained himself extensively for fighting telepaths, and is resistant to telepathic attack. This training is similar to that given to the X-Men and New Mutants by Professor X, although the effects are further augmented with the aid of his helmet (see below). Additionally, Magneto is possessed of a strong will, which also aids him in resisting telepathic assaults.
Unknown, although it is possible that his rejuvenation in the "Rebirth" chamber increased his strength as it did for Captain America.
Role in the series
Magneto has allied with Emperor Fang in order to destroy all of mankind to make way for Mutantkind, which will be the true species under Fang's rule of the galaxy.
