Although Shiv Helix did not appear in any other Ratchet & Clank games, Shiv's backstory is known thanks to the game and movie.

Shiv Helix was a criminal who has spent time in some of the darkest maximum secruity prisons of the galaxy, The Eternity Pits of Zordoom and the Iron Holds of Novalis and many other prisons according to Helix himself for various unknown crimes.

Ratchet & Clank[]

At the Aleero City Penterientry Helix is escorted to his new prison cell and meets his new cell-mate Captain Qwark whom Helix admired, and his two other cell mates Zed and Solitary Bill. While conversing, Shiv tells Qwark of a Holo-game based on a film based on his incident with Drek and Ratchet & Clank. Qwark is upset that no one consulted him about it and about nobody wanting to hear his side of the story. Helix feels pity for Qwark and wants to hear his story. Qwark now happy tells Helix his story. Near to the conclusion of Qwark's tale, Helix is shocked to learn that Qwark betrayed the Galactic Rangers just because of his jealously of Ratchet. Now concluding his story, Qwark and Helix are seen outside the Hall of Heroes picking up litter. Helix had enjoyed the story and Qwark staring at his statue of his former self, begins to wish he could be a true hero again. Ratchet and Clank show up and greet Qwark and while they talk Helix shoots down a Prison Warbot and steals Ratchet's ship and escapes. The game concludes with Qwark, Ratchet and Clank going after Helix.

Role in the series[]

Though he hates the reboot twin worlds, Doctor Nefarious has considered having Shiv be recruited into Team Nefarious. Shiv considered such an idea tempting, and to this day, he continues thinking about it.
