The Amazing 9

The Amazing 9

The Amazing Nine is a group of superheroes who grew up on Kratos, but were exiled to the dragon realms verson of New York City. They used to have 10, but one of them became evil, and had his old teammates exiled after having their memories erased and their powers disabled. There, The Amazing Nine had soon become astronauts, and eventually got their powers back when bitten by radioactive grasshoppers while battling Professor Gloom, their former teammate.

History

Years ago, when Grotch Prometheus and his paraplegic half-brother Grinchgrog ruled Kratos, the Amazing Nine's members lived happy lives. But when Grinchgrog stole Grotch's powers, and took over as ruler of Kratos, he began corrupting superiors until most of them became evil. However, some superiors wanted to overthrow Grinchgrog before he declares war on other worlds. And so, they all formed a resistance called The Grinchgrog Resistance, with over 50 superiors. It wasn't easy, and the fight was bloody and cold, and 40 of the Resistance's members died, but the Resistance managed to take back Grotch's superpowers, return them to Grotch, and help him defeat Grinchgrog, and exile him from Prometheon forever. From then on, The Grinchgrog Resistance was known as The Amazing Ten.

The Amazing Ten had been well-praised vigilantes who defended Kratos from crime and evil for 3 years. But then, the Amazing Ten's member, Victor Von Gloom, had been saved by Grinchgrog, and had been tricked to think that his other teammates were trying to overthrow Prometheus. And so, Von Gloom has begun to trust Grinchgrog, and secretly becomes his assistant. With his teammates' temporary trust, Victor is secretly hatching a plot to make Grinchgrog the ruler of Kratos again and the other teammates have no idea of it. However, they get suspicious when Von Gloom kills the leader of a superior gang that was causing crime.

What the Amazing Ten's 'Nine' members don't know is that Grinchgrog has kidnapped Grotch, stolen his powers and his identity, and taken control of Kratos. There, whereas no one knows that Grinchgrog is back, Grinchgrog, posing as Grotch, says that 'Grinchgrog' has returned, and is exacting revenge, and tricks the Senate into granting him temporary control of Kratos' agencies and cities. However, when the Amazing 10's Nine members come into Grotch's office after hearing that Grinchgrog has returned, and may possibly have corrupted Von Gloom, Super Lion gets more suspicious when he senses that something's not right with Grotch. He uses his X-ray vision, and Grinchgrog's cover is blown. Grinchgrog battles The Nine, and manages to knock out all of them except Super Lion, who overwhelms him with his invulnerability. At that moment, Von Gloom arrives to find Grinchgrog overwhelmed by Super Lion and his other teammates unconscious. Super Lion decides that Grinchgrog must be sent to prison so he won't cause devastation any longer, but Von Gloom decided that he must stand trial. But Super Lion refuses, and before he can knock Grinchgrog out, Von Gloom uses his super-strength to knock Super Lion out. From that moment, Victor Von Gloom had been known as Professor Gloom.

The Amazing Nine woke up in AE Pods (Amnesia and Exile Pods), an invention made by Professor Gloom, with their powers disabled, and to add insult to injury, they were somehow turned back into toddlers again. Grinchgrog and Professor Gloom were ready to wipe out their memories and exile them to a world lightyears away. However, Grotch, having managed to escape, had rounded up the Kratos authorities to defeat Grinchgrog, and they succeeded. However, they were too late to save The Amazing Nine. Their memories were already erased, and they have already been teleported to different parts of the Dragon Realms, and before Grotch could reverse the effects, Von Gloom pressed the self-destruct button, detonating the AE Pods. And The Amazing Nine was never seen again.

However, that didn't stop the Amazing Nine entirely. They went to different orphanages, and were adopted by different parents with no memory of who they really were. Years later, The Amazing Nine somehow met up with each other again, and became good friends. However, when Grinchgrog sensed this, he sent Professor Gloom to their current location of the Dragon realms Version of New York City, where they got jobs as astronauts. Grinchgrog intended to make sure that the Amazing Nine was never to be reunited again, so he assured Gloom that he would succeed. Gloom had made friends with the group in secret, and he did a good job keeping them ignorent of any word about Kratos by saying "it's a myth", and destroyed any newspapers that talked about the subject. However, eventally, his plans would be foiled by a mission gone south with radioactive grasshoppers. when the grasshoppers biten all 10 in the rocket, their radiation, instead of killing them, had interfeared with the disabling energy in the Nine's disabled power cells, granting them their powers back. when the rocket crashed back, they suddenly gain unuseal abilites, as well as Gloom's hidious true nature reveled. the nine wanted to help Gloom, but he ran off before anyone could stop him! eventally, they used their powers to become heroes, and would soon find themselfs in great battles against none other then Professor Gloom.

Comic Book Information

The Amazing Nine are also published in their own Generation Comics series. In the comic series, they have the same origin, and the same banishment, but have a different fictional history. They were banished to a world called Kragtos with a modern-day Earth setting. Fortunately, they were all brought together one day when the government discovered that their DNA signatures were through the roof. They caught the attention of Tomorrow Corps, a technological company specializing in futuristic technologies, which sees the Amazing Nine as interesting subjects for an experiment. But the CEO, Mr. McKeon, has more plans than that. He is in league with von Gloom who is attempting to prevent them from reuniting, but disguises his cover by saying he wants them alive under the cover name Mr. Kruger. A lab accident, however, causes the Amazing Nine to gain their powers back, and they escape and form a team. They are able to find clues to their past on a Kratosian Spaceship in Area 51 with an AI that tells them their origins, as well as the origin of their kind. Before they can go back home, they are caught and not only charged with trespassing on classified property and tampering with a classified spacecraft, but they are brought back to Tomorrow Corps where Mr. McKeon says his contractor has just ordered their termination. Luckily, the Amazing Nine fully regains their memories after hearing von Gloom's voice, and reveals him to be one of their kind. The Government allows the Amazing Nine to return back home on the Area 51 ship, and McKeon is charged with probation. The Amazing Nine, now back on Kratos, have to face not only von Gloom and Grinchgrog, but also several other villains, one of them being McKeon, who was able to gain access to quantonium and gain superpowers.
