The Z-Men are an Alternate UUniversal group of heroes residing on Planet Muton, and are the primary hero division of Dr. Mutagen, the leader of all Mutons, or normal sentience that have a higher level of Cerwan's Mutation, which was created in a lab by complete accident and form the famous Z-Gene, a gene which can double or triple the efficiency of Cerwan's Mutation to nearly-impossible degrees. This gene gives Mutons superpowers depending upon the environment they live in. The Z-Men are such an example, as they have the power to prove that Mutons can get along just like similar beings including the Eonians of Kreeton did. All lead by Muton Zyonoid telepath Professor Z, they fight off against enemies such as rogue Mutons and especially the last of the prejudicial normals like Leader Norm and Faction of the True Norm and their plans to destroy Muton for forsaking normalicty.

- Professor Z- The Zyonoid Muton leader of the Z-Men whose family is close friends to Dr. Mutagen and also works close for Genexski Mutagenics. His species' natural telepathy is heightened to an alarming degree as a Muton.
- Ferald- A puma-like weasel that is a hot-tempered fighter whose pure savagery gave him a metallic skeleton, razor-sharp blade claws, a healing factor fueled by adrenaline, and a heightened roar.
- Cyclon- A red thorny-devil-like creature whose adaptation to his natural blood-squirting ability have spontaneously allowed him to develop optic laser blasts that he controls using a visor.
- Jena Matter- A Kreeron whose adaptation in primitive forms of Gex life energy have allowed her to project force fields, telekinesis, turn invisible, teleport, and fly.
- Wildmind- A monkey-like cat which had a mutation at birth and was a victim of prejudice, especially when working in Genexski Mutagenics caused a lab accident that turned him into a large gorilla-like abomination, yet is still intelligent and serves as the scientist for the team.
- Dusty Storms- A stork-like pterosaur whose former dancing career in harmony with the weather gave her the ability to manipulate weather. She is a very strong fighter with similar power and personality to Thundra.
- Aposemy- A rowdy female poisonous frog-like creature whose naturally-poisonous skin and ability to learn how to control and learn through photographic memory and self-training have caused her poisonous skin to evolve into such that can absorb the powers, skills, and memories of anyone she touches.
- Poker-Face- A Metavincemander who is a skilled gambler whose skill in all kinds of gambling granted him a primitive form of mental powers, as he can use his heightened intelligence to manipulate pure kinetic energy and do many strange things as a result.
- Colosso- An axe-shaped-hooved ungulate whose durability and skill as a former gladiator hunter gave him an indestructible hide and unbelievable strength. He is very powerful and the muscle of the team.
- Icerov- A penguin-like bird whose adaptation to cold environments and bond to it have granted him ice abilities. He named himself after the weapons manufacturer who created ice shard/freeze weapons.
- Archie Angus- An Angellan who has adapted to technology and flight so much, he can turn his wings into a metallic composition with projectile feather blades.
- Moonstone- A rabbit/lemur-like primate whose arboreal nature and enlightened nature gave him a demon-like appearance, and adhesive hands and feet. He is a highly-religious member and a secret ally to the Union Against Religious Abuse since there was once a corrupt church that believed beings like Mutons were against the AUU Gods' ways.
